Usually not. Vagustim is designed to switch off on its own in a couple of situations, and both are normal.
Sleep mode
If there is no interaction with the device for 15 minutes, Vagustim automatically enters sleep mode to preserve battery. To wake it, press any of the + or – buttons.
Low battery
The device will also refuse to start a session when the battery falls below 10%. Pressing + won't begin stimulation — instead the middle LED blinks rapidly to signal low battery. If the middle LED turns on briefly and then shuts off completely, the battery is fully depleted and Vagustim will not power on until it's recharged.
You can check the level before a session by holding L– and R– together for 1 second: three LEDs blinking means 65–100%, two means 35–65%, and one means 0–35%.
If the device still won't turn on or respond
If charging doesn't resolve it, try the following:
- Make sure the battery is charged.
- Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, and reinstall it.
- Check that the battery is inserted in the correct orientation, with the correct polarities.
- Check that the battery cover is in the locked position. If the cover is broken, contact the manufacturer.
If the device disconnects during a session
This usually means one of two things: Vagustim was turned off accidentally or through rough handling during use, or the Bluetooth (BLE) connection dropped. Switch the device on again, reconnect, and start a new session.
Testing your device
If you'd like to confirm whether the device itself is working correctly, use the built-in Device Functionality Test, found in the Profile section of the Vagustim App or the Product Details section of the Vagustim Plus App.
When to contact us
Please get in touch at support@vagustim.io if your device turns off repeatedly during active sessions, does not hold a charge, or does not respond after a full charge and the steps above. Let us know what the LEDs are doing and the result of the Device Functionality Test, and we'll help you from there.
