If the stimulation feels weaker than expected or one side feels different from the other, it's usually related to earset placement, contact quality, or fit rather than the device itself.
Try the following:
- Gradually increase the intensity until the sensation is noticeable but comfortable.
- Apply a generous amount of conductive spray or conductive gel to both contact points before each session.
- Reposition the earsets so they make good contact with the tragus and cymba concha.
- Check the contact indicators during the session:
- Solid green: Good contact.
- Blinking green: Contact is unstable. Adjust the earsets until the light becomes solid.
It is completely normal for:
- One ear to feel slightly different from the other.
- The sensation to become less noticeable as your body adapts during the session.
- The required intensity to vary from day to day.
If one side consistently feels weaker, try these additional checks:
- Swap the left and right earsets.
- If the issue follows the earset, the earset may need to be replaced.
- If the issue stays on the same side of the device, it may indicate a device or contact issue.
- Perform a Finger Test.
- Apply a small amount of conductive gel or water to your fingers.
- Gently pinch the two metal contacts of the earset.
- Slowly increase the intensity.
- If you feel stimulation on your fingers, the device is producing output correctly, and the issue is most likely related to earset fit or placement.
- Run the Device Functionality Test.
- In the Vagustim app: Profile → Support → Device Functionality Test
- In the Vagustim Plus app: Products → Select Device → Pen (Edit) → Product Details → Device Functionality Test
If you've completed these steps and the issue persists, please contact our support team with your order number, device serial number, and a description of what you've observed. We'll be happy to help determine the next steps.
