It's normal to see "Calibrating" briefly at the beginning of an HRV measurement. If the calibration doesn't complete or the measurement repeatedly fails, try the following steps.
Make Sure You're Using the Rear Camera
HRV measurements use your phone's rear camera. The front (selfie) camera cannot be used.
Position Your Finger Correctly
- Gently cover the entire rear camera with your fingertip.
- Do not press too hard or too lightly.
- Keep your finger still throughout the measurement.
Check Your Environment
- Sit comfortably and avoid moving or talking during the measurement.
- Use the measurement in a well lit environment, but avoid direct sunlight shining directly into the camera.
- Allow approximately 60 seconds for the measurement to complete.
Check Camera Permissions
Make sure the Vagustim app has permission to access your phone's camera.
Restart the App
If the measurement continues to get stuck:
- Close and reopen the Vagustim app.
- Restart your phone.
- Make sure you're using the latest version of the app.
